Commercial Mold Remediation Project
This project is a commercial mold remediation and decontamination. A prolonged water leak from an unsealed hole in an exterior wall caused water damage and mold growth on both sides of an interior wall. This wall separated the bathroom and the hallway of this church. After building our containment and establishing negative air pressure with our HEPA air scrubbers, we removed all the mold affected drywall, treated all the studs and wood framing, and encapsulated all the studs and wood framing to prevent future mold growth concerns. We then installed new drywall and painted. We also fixed the water leak so that this issue never happens again.
It’s so important to build a containment and establish negative air pressure whenever your doing any kind of remediation, restoration, abatement, or mitigation. This will prevent cross contamination concerns and eliminate the potential of needing to come back to the job again to redo your work. It’s also important that if you have mold affected drywall, that you don’t just paint over the mold growth, the mold will come back and grow through the paint if you do this. Just remove the mold affected drywall and replace it. You must also fix the initial water incursion that caused the mold growth or it will come back.
